We currently have a vacancy to join our friendly team – we are looking for a part-time Therapist Co-ordinator on a 24-month fixed contract. The position is offered at 15 hours per week at £16.50 per hour.

Our trainee/volunteer team is increasing, we currently have 17 (trainee or voluntary) therapists working for us on a weekly basis - we take on two cohorts of new trainees each year so expect this to rise. This, coupled with a significant spike in referrals, has led us to creating this new, exciting post.

This new role is will be responsible for supporting all aspects of our 1:1 therapy service – primarily recruiting new trainees, line management and development of existing trainees and volunteers, and as required, assisting with assessments of new clients, and monitoring of client attendance. Initially, the post holder will work with the senior management team, to review our service delivery model too.

The post holder will also be responsible for building relationships with training providers, to support our trainee placement programme and the 'pipeline' of trainees joining us.

The role is hybrid - partly based in our Mansfield office and partly home-based.

The post holder will need:

  • To be qualified to Level 4 or above in counselling (or equivalent)
  • To have experience of managing or supporting staff
  • Be willing to have an enhanced with barring DBS check

Role and duties:

  • Initially review our service delivery model in respect of our therapy service in conjunction with the Operations Manager and CEO.
  • Recruit, interview and select volunteers and trainees in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
  • Deliver our online induction to all new trainee therapists.
  • Provide line management and support of volunteers/trainees as appropriate, ensuring they are suitable supervised – face to face, online or via telephone.
  • Undertake Initial Assessments of new clients as required.
  • Assist with the allocation of clients – matching them with suitable therapists.
  • Work with therapists to monitor client attendance, client progress and offer guidance as appropriate.
  • Complete all required paperwork in relation to management of trainees/volunteers, and ensure relevant monitoring and reviews are kept up to date.
  • To attend and assist in the running of in-house group supervision when appropriate.
  • Take the role of Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting staff with safeguarding concerns and acting in line with our Safeguarding policy. Essentially, the commitment to ensuring safe practices and welfare of people (our clients, staff and volunteers).
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with training providers.
