Vacancy: Chair of the Board (voluntary position)

We are looking for a Chair (and Trustee) to join our dedicated Management Committee!

The Chair will (in addition to trustee duties):

  • Provide leadership to the organisation and the board by ensuring that everyone remains focused on the delivery of its charitable purposes in order to deliver the greatest public benefit.
  • Ensure our Annual Reports and Accounts are produced at the end of each year and will ensure that they are forwarded to the Charity Commission within the appropriate time period.
  • Chair and facilitate board meetings encouraging full participation by all participants.
  • Need to have commitment to safeguarding the wellbeing of our clients and organisation
  • Have a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Establish sub-committees and working groups to address specific issues/tasks as
    deemed appropriate by the board.
  • Check decisions taken at meetings are implemented.
  • Represent the organisation at functions and meetings and act as a spokesperson when
    appropriate.
  • Bring impartiality and objectivity to decision making.
  • Liaise with the CEO to keep an overview of the organisation’s affairs and to provide
    support as appropriate.
  • Lead the process of supporting and appraising the performance of the CEO.
  • Lead on the work and administration required to change our status to a CIO.

Our Chair will need:

  • Leadership skills
  • Experience of chairing meetings and/or committee work
  • Able to balance tact and diplomacy with willingness to challenge and constructively
    criticise
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Impartiality, fairness
  • Good understanding of legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
  • Previous trusteeship experience is advantageous.

Vacancy: Qualified Outreach Therapist - Part-time

We currently have a vacancy to join our friendly team – we are looking for a part-time Qualified Therapist on a fixed contract until 31st March 2025 The position is offered at 12-14 hours per week at £15.45 per hour. This exciting role is primarily to provide 1:1 therapy to survivors of childhood sexual abuse or recent sexual violence (all genders). The role will require the post holder to work with independently at our Worksop base and/or online. Our approach is person- centred and long-term.

The post holder will need:

  • To be qualified to Level 4 or above in counselling (or equivalent)
  • To have had or be in the process of having personal counselling, a minimum of 6 months
  • A minimum of one year’s work experience as a therapist (inc. as a trainee)
  • Be willing to have a DBS check
  • To have a full driving licence, access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across the county as required (occasionally)

Role and duties:

  • Managing a caseload of survivors of sexual abuse and/or their family members.
  • Supporting individual service users of SHE UK and provide 1-to-1 therapy on a weekly basis.
  • To write up confidential session notes and either email or send into appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Enable the service to run effectively by responding to queries in a timely manner and assist the development of SHE UK in line with demand.
  • To attend in-house group supervision when appropriate
  • To attend in-house and external training as required
  • Work in-line with our safeguarding policy, culture and ethos
  • To work flexibly to the needs of the organisation as required
  • To always maintain appropriate confidentiality
  • To be proactive in ongoing personal and professional development
  • Undertake clinical supervision
  • To attend team meetings where possible
  • To read and understand the Policies and Procedures essential to the work and to the organisation
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role
