Vacancy: Part-time (female) Senior Support worker

We currently have a vacancy to join our friendly team – the position is a combined role as a part-time Senior Support Worker. Due to the nature of our work and needs of our clients, we have a lawful occupational requirement to recruit a female to this role. The position is offered at 12 hours per week. The closing date for applications is 22nd August.

This exciting role is split:

  1. SHE-roes lounge support worker (6 hours- Mansfield based) – Tuesday 9am to 3pm. This postholder will provide support to survivors attending our female SHE-roes Lounge and peer group
  2. Telephone support worker (6 hours worked flexibly throughout the week) – To make calls of 30 minute to clients on our waiting list for therapy to provide a check in and help support them via signposting regarding current life challenges.

The post holder will need to be willing to have a DBS check – we require an Enhanced with Barring check for this role.

Role and duties:

To support the female only SHE-roes Lounge group taking place each Tuesday by:

  • Supporting female attendees and the Course facilitators
  • Assisting with the development of group activities
  • Helping new attendees integrate into the group
  • Providing emotional support to individuals and the group, as required
  • Responding to safeguarding concerns appropriately
  • In time, to learn course material and be able to deliver to a small group
  • Telephone Support Worker duties:
  • Providing emotional support via phone to cope in the ‘here and now’ – calls of no more than 30 minutes each fortnight
  • Offering practical guidance such as grounding techniques and coping strategies
  • Signposting to other local services (e.g drug and alcohol, foodbanks, mental health services etc)
  • Respond to potential safeguarding concerns
  • Completing relevant administrative tasks relating to the role – notes, monitoring information etc.
  • In addition:
  • To attend in-house and external training and meetings, as required
  • Work in-line with our safeguarding policy, culture and ethos
  • To work flexibly to the needs of the organisation as required
  • To always maintain appropriate confidentiality
  • To be proactive take part in line management sessions and in ongoing personal and professional development
  • To read and understand the Policies and Procedures essential to the work and to the organisation
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role

Vacancy: Treasurer (voluntary position)

We are looking for a Treasurer (and Trustee) to join our dedicated Management Committee!

The Treasurer will need:

  • Financial qualifications and experience
  • Knowledge of management accounting and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of the Charity Commission Statement of Recommended practice (SORP) for annual reporting to the Commission.
  • Some experience of charity finance and fundraising.
  • Ability to communicate and explain financial information simply.
  • The skills to analyse proposals and plans and to examine their financial consequences.
  • Being prepared to make unpopular recommendations to the board.
  • A willingness to be available to the CEO and other relevant staff for advice and enquiries on an adhoc basis.

In addition to Trustee duties, Treasurer role and duties, include:

  • Assure that the financial resources of the organisation meets its present and future needs.
  • Advising on the financial implications of SHE UK’s development plans.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting cycle.
  • Ensure regular financial management accounts, showing performance against budget, are produced and presented to the board.
  • Prepare any additional financial reports required by the board.
  • Ensure the year-end accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by the regulatory bodies and funders.
  • Ensure the year-end accounts are externally scrutinised in the manner required.
  • Making a formal presentation of the year-end accounts at the Annual General Meeting and draw attention to points in a coherent and easily understandable way.
  • Ensure the appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place and complied with.
  • Ensure that the charity has an appropriate reserves policy.
  • Ensure the payment of salaries, PAYE, National Insurance, Statutory sick pay, pensions and expenses and to ensure submission of returns to appropriate bodies.
  • To ensure the organisation is adequately insured for property, employer’s liability, public liability and other such risks as directed by the board.
  • Liaise with the CEO about financial matters.
